Biology lessons can lead to fascinating university courses and jobs. An “A” in Biology opens the doors to Medicine, Medical Sciences or BioSciences.

We use past papers from all main exam boards; for example: AQA, Edexcel, SQA, and are happy to correct our students’ homework.

Quick facts: 

  • Our DNA is stored in 23 pairs of chromosomes and we only understand what some of them are responsible for. Unlocking the secrets of the DNA will help us live longer and healthier.
  • There are more non-human cells in our body than human ones!
  • Bamboo is the fastest-growing woody plant in the world. It can grow 90 cm in a single day.
  • The smell of freshly-cut grass is actually a plant distress call!
  • Puffins are only full of colour during their breeding  season when their bills are brightly-coloured, legs orange and the eyes have a red and black markings.
  • Beavers can swim up to five miles per hour. This is more than twice as fast as an average person.
